Five new designs from this year’s EDCFDA Pride Initiative, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the TransLatin@ Coalition
Five independent CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) members have created a range of eyewear to benefit the TransLatin@ Coalition for Pride Month.
Blake Kuwahara Eyewear, Christian Roth Eyewear, Krewe Eyewear, LA Eyeworks and Selima Optique, who are Eyewear Designers of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (EDCFDA) members, have each offered a limited-edition design, with a portion of proceeds going to the Coalition. An exclusive lens cloth by New York artist Pedro Silva accompanies the designs.
‘What started out as a modest idea led to our first collective launch in June 2022, which raised nearly $50,000 for the LA LGBT Center. Building on that momentum and enthusiastic reception from our retail partners and the end consumers, we hope to raise even more awareness and funds for the TransLatin@ Coalition,’ said Kuwahara.
LA Eyeworks designer Gai Gherardi added, ‘Vision and visibility must walk hand in hand to be freeing, and the EDCFDA Pride Initiative sees to amplify both ideas in a responsive and emphatic way.’
