Lamborghini shows ‘extreme’ Aventador J; Rolls-Royce updates Phantom range

Top Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini and the new Aventador J. Above Rolls-Royce has updated its Phantom line to Series II.

Lamborghini has shown its Aventador J at the Salon de Genève. A barchetta design with two small wind deflectors—making it the lowest car the Italian exotica manufacturer has ever made—the J is a one-off, but it is road-ready and Lamborghini expects to sell it.
   The roofless design and the absence of such unnecessary items as air conditioning means the J is lighter than the Aventador LP 700-4 on which it is based. The car is made from forged composites, while the seats are made of CarbonSkin, a new carbonfibre-based textile, the first time such a material has been used in a car.
   Meanwhile, another German-owned brand, Rolls-Royce, has shown the Series II version of its imposing, top-of-the-line Phantom. All the models are updated—saloon, LWB saloon, coupé and Drophead Coupé—with improvements to drivetrain, usage and connectivity.
