In preparation for New York Fashion Week last month, Hublot, a celebrated luxury Swiss watchmaker, celebrated their much-awaited collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, at an all-time exclusive gathering at the Glass House in Chelsea overlooking spectacular views of the city. The celebration intended to serve as a toast to a newly launched NFT and the watch creations. During the launch event, only one out of the thirteen NFTs was introduced, the Classic Fusion Black Ceramic Rainbow watch, while the remaining twelve will be unveiled in late March during the Watches and Wonders Geneva exhibition.
Hublot and Murakami first collaborated in January 2021 when the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami All Black was revealed, leading the way for the upcoming thirteen Classic Fusion watches. Hublot delightfully fuses the concept of high technology, luxury and the arts to create inspiring pieces that are colourfully appealing. The upcoming designs are also inspired by Japanese video games and television from the 1970s.—Lola Cristall, Paris Editor
