Chuck Taylor has been part of Converse for over 100 years, and the company shows the latest evolution to bear his name

Converse has launched its Chuck Taylor All Star Construct, evolving the range while staying true to its heritage.

The Chuck Taylor All-Stars have been a major part of Converse’s story since Taylor himself, a semi-professional basketball player, joined the firm in 1921. Taylor contributed many ideas to Converse’s basketball shoes, and eventually lent his signature to the products.

The Construct designs reference the 1980s, inspired by the Pro Star and Star Tech models from that decade. A rubber cage wraps the toes on the medial and lateral sides; there’s a thicker EVA midsole in rubber foxing tape; and the outsole has a herringbone tread extending into the midsole. The All Star patch remains in its usual position.
