Mercedes-Benz has hired Antonio Banderas and his daughter with Melanie Griffith, Stella, to promote its W214 E-Klasse, emphasizing how cars today are personalized, through their gadgetry, to their owners.

The film’s storyline sees Antonio drive Stella’s E-Klasse for a day, finding out about her daily routines and habits. A reinterpretation of the 1976 song ‘Daddy Cool’ is played in the film, with a score by Georg von dem Busche. Team X was behind the concept, with François Rousselet directing, and Matthew Jones as director of photography. Ronan Gallagher shot the stills.

The campaign broke in Germany first on September 16. It will be on display in Studio Odeonsplatz by Mercedes-Benz in München from October 9.

In a release, he said, ‘Just like Mercedes-Benz, I am very much convinced that a car today should be more than just a means of transport: it’s turning into a digital companion, a personal space in which its owners can feel completely at ease.’

Bettina Fetzer, Mercedes-Benz AG’s VP of communications and marketing, added, ‘Antonio and Stella Banderas are the perfect family team for our latest campaign bringing in daily life. Their genuine father–daughter connection mirrors the essence of what the E-Class in particular stands for—connecting people through intuitive technology. Our business saloon offers a broad range of personalization that turns everyday journeys into a special experience.’
