Reports from the Murdoch Press are saying that Daniel Craig will open the 2012 London Olympics as James Bond. There may be a number of events to celebrate the cinematic half-century of James Bond—but this one has to take the cake.
Craig, as Bond, has teamed up with Trainspotting director Danny Boyle, according to the newspaper group.
In related Bond news, Heineken will be seen in one scene in the new movie Skyfall, which will début later this year.
As part of the marketing deal, Daniel Craig will also appear in a Heineken advertisement. It is expected to be Heineken’s biggest collaboration with the Bond movie franchise.
Rumours are also circulating around Adele, who says she will have a single out this year. Tom Jones had said that Adele would be a perfect choice for the new Bond theme song, and the speculation is that she has been chosen by the producers.
Skyfall is the 23rd Eon Productions Bond film. Daniel Craig is joined by Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench, Naomie Harris, Bérénice Marlohe, Ben Chaplin, Albert Finney, and Ralph Fiennes. Sam Mendes directs.
It will be released October 26 in the UK and Éire, and November 9 in North America.
